"Apophis" and the Prophesied Threat of Meteors (Part 2)

A couple of months ago, I wrote an article  which referred to "Wormwood", a meteor which, according to Revelations , is prophesied to hit the Earth.  And upon doing so, it will also wreak all types of apocalyptic-level devastation. When I did that research, just some 60 days ago, the information available indicated that whereas an asteroid dubbed "Apophis" will, relatively speaking, come close to Earth a couple of times within the next 12 years, it is not likely that to make impact.  But suddenly, over this past week, that narrative, i.e. the prospect of an asteroid hitting Earth, seems to have changed or in the least become more palpably alarming. First came NASA 's "hypothetical exercise" to began preparing for the possibility of an "asteroid with 72% chance hitting the Earth in 14 years".  Fourteen years from now would be 2038.  That's roughly the same year in which it was has been calculated that Apophis may make landfall.  More spec...

Potential U.S.-Related COVID Vaxx Drama in the Philippines

For the most part we, as individuals, are free to decide which diseases to take seriously.   Traditionally speaking, we tend to be forcibly (so to speak) given vaccinations in our youth, sometimes at birth, as authorized by our parents.   But upon adulthood, we’re usually afforded a higher degree of medical freedom.   Let’s take the HIV/AIDS epidemic for instance.   To this day, HIV remains officially incurable and as such has scared the damn out of the lot of people.   But ultimately, it's up to us as individuals as to whether or not we would take measures to prevent it.   In other words, a person may or may not practice safe sex in the name of avoiding or even spreading HIV.  If you're out there and catch the virus, then it's considered to be your problem, so to speak. QUESTIONABLE COVID-19 PREVENTION There are difference between HIV and COVID-19 , such as how they are transmitted.   The latter is transmissible through the air or by touch...

Mass Shooting in Arkansas Grocery Store (21 June 2024)

Image
I've decided to began using this blog to document mass murders, especially in the United States , where they seem to occur most often.  Heading into this year, it felt as if such incidences were on the decline.  But during the past week or so, there has been a spike in mass shootings, murder/suicides, the murder of children and such matters stateside. This latest incident resulted in four deaths.  The fatalities were Ellen Shrum (81 years old), Shirley Taylor (62), Roy Sturgis (50) and Callie Weems (28).  It's safe to presume that none of them were actually expecting to die that day, given the fact that at the time they were apparently in engaged morning time shopping. The scene of the crime, a grocery store in a part of Arkansas known as Fordyce . There were also "seven other civilians" shot, including one woman who remains in critical condition.  Let's pray that she makes it through okay. Travis Posey, the man who murderously opened fire on a group of inn...

'Praying Big' within the Context of the Bible

Commercial Christianity is such that when a particular message becomes popular, pastors across the board tend to start regurgitating it.  I don't know if this is the case of one pastor coming up with a catchy concept and then others plagiarizing it.  Or maybe, given their general tendency to secularize the Bible, such thoughts evolve naturally.  All things considered, that phenomenon may be a combination of both. One major difference between Christian leaders of the today and the actual originators of the religion is that the former are wealthy.  Jesus, the Apostles, Paul and the early church, those people were not rich.  In fact with the early church, at least as far as Jersusalem was concerned, participants actually forsook their wealth upon joining, for the greater good of the whole.  By contrast, Christian leaders of today aren't likely to use their own wealth to help their congregation.  If they engage in a notable act of charity, it's likely usin...
