666 Watch: Aaliyah (1979-2001)

Image
I'm well aware that the young R&B songstress Aaliyah left the mortal plane over two decades ago.  More specifically, she died in 2001 at the too-soon age of 22.  But in the entertainment field and the music industry especially, it can take people an indefinite amount of time to move on from an unexpected death. Aaliyah was also one of, if not the first (and only?) pure-R&B singer to fully break into Hollywood , i.e. the mainstream movie industry.  It's somewhat common for rappers to successfully take up acting, but not so much R&B singers. A musician being featured in a movie is one thing.  But actually starring in one that's mainstream denotes that said individual has actual acting talent and is not there just because of their celebrity.  And so it was with Aaliyah.  It isn't unrealistic to speculate that if she had lived on, her all-around career would have at least been on par with what  Jennifer Lopez  has become. THE "QUEEN OF TH...

New World Order in Africa (Part 1)

Image
FOREWORD I started a series like this a few years ago, back in the Google+ days.  I believe that initial installment of New World Order in Africa centered on the formation or propagation of ECOWAS , a West African superstate. The argument, if I remember correctly, was that a regional-political entity being formed in that part of the globe was inline with the ultimate realization of a "new world order", i.e. one-world government.  In other words, it makes sense that different countries would be lumped into regional entities before ultimately become part of a global one.  But that particular article, unfortunately, is long lost.  Furthermore, that term "new world order" is like crazy loaded anyway, exceeding the realm of politics.  So I've decided to start the series over.  And I dubbed this post "Part 1" because I anticipate more coming after it, though I can't tell when. "NEW WORLD ORDER" IN AFRICA Indeed, there's a lot of new world ...

Esoteric Movie Review: Red One (2024)

Image
I understand Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson to be one of the more committed and influential Luciferians in Hollywood.  But he's also one of my favorite movie stars, and it's rare that one of his movies disappoints. Whether or not Red One (2024) is corny is a matter of perspective.  Dwayne's performance was rock solid, as usual.  But overall, this is far from one of his most entertaining films. THE DEFILEMENT OF CHRIS EVANS' HOLLYWOOD CHARACTER It's obvious that Red One was inspired by other buddy action comedies that the Rock has starred in, most specifically Red Notice (2021).  The latter co-starred Ryan Reynolds as the wise-cracking, White male anti-hero whose antics offset yet at the same time complement the Rock's no-nonsense demeanor.  Ryan gets criticized for portraying that type of character in like every movie he's in, but the thing about it is that he does it better than anyone.  Like you can imagine how Red One could have been twice as m...
